Valentines Day 2010
So this was our first valentines spent as a married couple. It will also be our last with just the two of us. We really made the best of the entire weekend. One of the things I love about Ben is that he doesn't mind taking the time to be romantic and really appreciates the romantic in me. Ben purchased some of my favorite scented candles and home scents that are solely for the purpose of use during labor day of our at home birth. Eucalyptus, spearmint, tranquil aromas all of which I enjoy on a daily basis anyways, but from what we've researched can also really contribute to the ease of the laboring process. Maybe ease isn't a good word for it, but you know what I mean.
Last night we enjoyed dinner at one of our favorite Fayetteville hot spots, Greenhouse grille. Everything in the house is either grown or raised from local farms here in Arkansas. I highly recommend the honey glazed duck. We began our today with blueberry pancakes and attending what has become our 2nd home, Keypoint church. We then followed with a light picnic at a park in Fayetteville while spectating friends playing ultimate frisbee, and relaxing at home tonight with the pups. It was a very enjoyable weekend.
Although we are trying to mentally prep for the arrival of Austyn, we are also keeping ourselves busy with work and some new extracurricular activities. Ben is staying active in marketing for his practice, playing in a bowling league on tuesdays, and was recently asked to join a basketball league with friends. He's also been volunteering/reffing ball games with a local church and the children's Upward teams. I've been getting accustomed to my work schedule which was thankfully moved from 7:30 am to 8:30 am. You have no idea what that extra hour does for me. :) I've also continued getting to the gym when energy levels are sufficient and hoping to take up swimming very soon. I've also found a 20 Something Women's group at keypoint church that will meet on Thursday evenings. I'm very excited about obtaining some female camaraderie and hoping to connect with some other new moms.
The change of moving to NWA has finally settled in my mind and I'm able to exhale a little more easily these days. My prenatal appointments have already moved up to being seen once bi-weekly. This alone tells me how soon the reality of having a little one will be. I'm very excited, scared, slightly overwhelmed, but completely content with what God has blessed us with.
Wishing well for a great week filled with little low back pain, good health and a positive spirit! Good night to all and hope your valentines day, whether just an ordinary day or one for the books, was equally something to smile about.
Love,
Kelly
